Hard to feel good about the data. The 2-5 record this week is doing most of the damage. Compounding things, the staff giving up 6.1 RA/G this week.

Athletics News
The Oakland Athletics continue to stumble, suffering a gut-wrenching 4-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals after blowing a late lead yet again. This defeat follows a string of poor performances, with the A's now sitting at 2-5 over the last week and a staggering run differential of -14. To add to the team's woes, Tyler Soderstrom will undergo season-ending hip surgery, a blow to any hopes of future offensive spark. Manager Mark Kotsay's strategy of using an opener ahead of Jack Perkins seemed like a move designed to shake things up, but it ultimately fell flat as the bullpen faltered. Zack Gelof and Max Muncy are expected to carry the load with their recent hot bats, but the A's need far more than a couple of players stepping up if they aim to turn this ship around.
Athletics Upcoming Schedule
The Oakland Athletics visit the Houston Astros for a 3-game series starting Friday.
