Athletics News
The Oakland Athletics couldn’t shake off their struggles as they kicked off a three-game series against the Miami Marlins with a disheartening 12-5 loss, plagued by a disastrous six-run first inning that showcased their pitching woes. The A's are now riding a rough stretch, with only three wins in their last seven games and a record of 41-46, stuck in fourth place in the division. Further complicating matters, they designated Matt Krook and Geoff Hartlieb for assignment while welcoming back José Suarez and Mark Leiter Jr., showing the toll injuries have taken on their roster. On the field, Shea Langeliers fought through a thumb injury but his effort couldn’t save the day. As they face a Marlins team that boasts the MLB's best record in June, the A's need to find their rhythm fast or risk sinking further into mediocrity.
Athletics Upcoming Schedule
The Oakland Athletics visit the Detroit Tigers for a 3-game series starting Tuesday.
